The map is generated entirely from the public node list interface, so you can hack it to your heart's content. (But please share changes back with us so we can share the love.) Thanks to Google for an awesome mapping interface!
This page uses the google maps API to graph data. When the page loads, a javascript function requests the XML node list from the datapository. When those results arrive, the client parses the status to overlay the data onto the map. We determine the latitude and longitude for the nodes using the Yahoo maps geocoding API, and store the results persistently in the datapository.
